Pevero Golf Club: an extraordinary position for an equally extraordinary golf course. Everything is special starting from the design by Robert Trent Jones, who, at the beginning of the Seventies (in 1978, Pevero Golf Club hosted the renowned Italian Open), implemented a very exclusive course scattered with terrible hazards created by nature itself more than by man and with a strong wind often blowing across it. Before, the whole area between Cala di Volpe and Golfo del Pevero was completely covered by the typical Mediterranean bushes, by rocks and natural ponds; it would have been a shame if he had destroyed this beauty. So, he have just removed some areas where the vegetation was too thick. The Pevero is considered one of the most beautiful courses in the world, is second to none thanks to the spectacular foreshortenings taken from the magnificent Costa Smeralda, stretching from Porto Rotondo to Porto Cervo. The view from the club house over the gulf of Pevero and the bay of Cala di Volpe are unforgettable.
Just an hour or so by air from the main cities of continental Europe, Pevero Golf Club is surrounded by rocks and natural pools, and is perfumed with the aromas of strawberries, juniper and myrtle released by the lush Mediterranean maquis. The vibrant green colour of the course appears to merge with the emerald-colored backdrop of the sea. A truly unique location for a great round of golf. The course stretches out like a natural green carpet, thanks both to the virtues of the original design and to the ongoing research conducted on wind, rain, soil and temperature changes by the greenkeepers. The holes are located along an extraordinary course where the mistral - the famous north wind, which has sculpted the local rock formations - increases the difficulty of playing a great shot. Both the Club House and the Golf Houses are designed by Riccardo Bonicatti, in a perfect harmony with the whole natural contest: an high quality of buildings and facilities correspond to new equipments, new golf cart, a bar on the fairways and the best computer for learning golf. Golf seminaries are also very useful in order to invite young people to play this sport.
